Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory Operating Status in Princeton, NJ

* Status of the GFDL Buildings
- the environment of the computer building has been restored (A/C capacity is limited)
- the main building is closed at least through Friday; it may reopen as early as Monday
- escorted access is available from Operations at the back door to retrieve items from offices
- Sayre Hall (Princeton University) is back to normal operating conditions

* Access to the network
- remote access may be available as early as tonight, at least to public1/public2 and the Home File System
- ongoing service interruptions are possible
- access to /net and /net2 will be delayed pending the restoration of the main building environment

* Status of the HPCS
- integrity checks of components will take some time
- the Home File System my be returned as early as this evening

* Status of the GFDL website
- we are currently using a backup server to display emergency/status information
- GFDL's primary server/site may be restored as early as tomorrow

* Status of the 1st floor asbestos abatement
- at this time, we do not expect this to impact the abatement schedule
